in my procrastination tactics i stumbled upon an 8th grade favorite quizilla :) a good 30 minutes of fun: finding that my rapper nickname should be nuffing, my lipgloss flavor is sour apple and what lies behind my eyes is this rad picture!!! and peace i guess. i need to get outta this city! everything is old news i am feeling antsy, that coupled with my lack of funds for having fun, my parents stressing me out with their travel plans for my graduation and my future lyfe plans hanging midair somewhere in the near or far future of email or postage mail in world have me obsessively checking me email and the mailbox and watching a shit ton of biglove.

oh have i not mentioned i am in love with biglove and wish i had costumed it and attributed to its greatness this may be due to the fact that while at home on my parents big comfy couch over spring break i may or may not have become addicted to the show sister wives on tlc, i cant help it TLC GETS ME EVERYTIME whether it is an hour long special on primordial dwarfism or a show about baby beauty competitions i can not look away, it may be due the fact that i self proclaimedly will watch a documentary about ANYTHING! really unless it has a gag factor that i cant handle i will pretty much be hooked

or maybe it is because i am nosey or maybe i truly care about things and am truly interested in lyfe ? nope i bet i am just nosey and love pulling those annoying pretentious random facts out in groups of people. which led to Sohui and i watching a half hour of primordial dwarfism youtube videos in the costume shop on tuesday :/

my nose ring /thing/ stud fell out the other day when i was watching psych in my room! and i finally got to change it no pliers, two string men needed and/or eye/ face injuries involved! i thought that i would have to grow old with that earring back in my nose i had dealt with the fact and run the slideshow of my life growing old with a nose stud from when i was 20 years old looking hip with the nose stud in my future came with its share of no serious jobs only long white hair and crazy southwest inspired jewelry that, or i was gonna move to an indian neighborhood where an old lady aint judged!

but alas it did not come to either of those scenarios HOWEVER ... i did have to go to the most awful store with the most awful music to buy a new nose stud there was a man getting a barbed wire tatto and the woman who helped me wore an awful coraline inspired( i am sure) maroon wig however nose stud retreived and my future looks bright

also my parents come into town tomorrow to see the show i designed and haven't seen myself since saturday and have no time to change anything i see that goes wrong but whatevs i am not stressing and my parents will still love it even if it looks crazy so we're good!

this week marks week one of carmen's 1.5 quarter's of being a normal college student with only classes and work to worry about and it is looking pretty sweet!!!

i am not good at snow days :

depaul has cancelled all school classes and events starting today tuesday at 1pm and wed.

however i am good at blaming the snow for not letting me get shit done like not being able to pick up things for my show or not letting be able to get to joanns to pick up things to make those earrings i have been wanting to make or not letting me grocery shop. however i do have yardage of fabric to block print and costume renderings and groundplan drafting to do so this is probably a blessing in disguise but as of now it just feels like cabin fever.

it also kinda eerily feels like karma and mother nature are giving me back the weekend that tech weekend for my show took away:)

i am in a constant state of stress and today i tooktime to walk around my neighborhood. i got to my apartment and kept walking it may have been my procrastination having a magnetically polar reaction to my front door or maybe it was the weird threatening to storm weather we had today it was super still and then crazy windy and grey and kind of perfect. anyways when i am done with the fifty something rendering i have to do in the next month i can assure you it will be to cold to go outside so i am forcing myself outdoors before i go into hibernation. i miss summer and what relaxation feels like i feel like i wake up ready to do stuff and fall asleep stressed ;teeth clenched, shoulders tense. i am sure if you took a picture of me sleeping it would look something like this:

As my goal is too wear as little clothing as possible in this hot ass weather i have been drawn to bags as i always am but more so as shoes as well have become obsolete. my two favorite bags from summer2010 were both from Celine and as i am not made of money or anywhere near it and as my luck in embarrassingly looking for knockoffs online failed i had to go to other sources i found a more than fine canvas version of the leather two tone by Rachel Comey which i am way happy with i know it is not exactly the same but i may still make a Celine knockoff from the extra leather i have in my locker at skool

this Rachel Comey bag also reminds me of those Marc Jacobs for Vuitton bags where he took parts from all the bags and frankensteined them into one patchworky mess only in the way that the clutch in the front looks like it has been hotglued on the front :D

and then today as i was shopping in that way that you do on weekends were you dont really plan on buyng anything i found the perfect Celine knockoff in Navy Blue and Tan leather one of my favorite combos:D and to top things off it has rad B's for Briwa? on the closure! SCHwing more like SCHwinner is what i am.

seeing joanna newsom was quite an ordeal and an adventure but totally worth it. our small roadtrip suddenly turned into that daria episode when she goes on a roadtrip with trent i swear if danny's glasses had broken and either erin and i had been stung by a bee it would have been unreal how ridiculous it was . the car broke down in a suburb with no hope of ever starting again and then we took a cab to the metra train abandoning the car with little to no money for train tickets thank god it was easter special prices or we would have had to hide from the ticket clerk and proceeded to arrive in Danny and Erin's home town where his sister's car had a gas leak so her friend picked us up and dropped us off at erin's parents house where we retrieved car number two and made it to milwaukee in time to drink a magic hat and relax before Joanna even went onstage. and then she was AMAZING and we drove home and went to sleep utterly exhausted also seeing Joanna in person gave me a newfound love for my ridiculously long hair!!! once my weird layered bits grow out i will be completely content with my side braid!:D oh also my life is stress free besides my show and i now have time to worry about things like my hair and the state of my apartment which i cleaned in its entirety today!!! oh if i only had the patience to meditate, my apartment would be alot messier but i would be so at peace.

My name is Amy, my sister is Cassie, and our brother is Carlton. My sister and I love to play with the Quiji Board so naturally we read up on the subject. This is what we found out so far: #1. If the triangle starts going in circles, stop it cause it is the sign of the devil. #2. Never! break the eye of the triangle! It lets all of the demons out. #3. If someone in the board is trying to get you to say a certain word or phrase don't say it because more than likely they are trying to get you to release them and it is nearly impossibly to put them back again. They will haunt you for as long as you live,(Trust me I speak from personaly experience) #4. Never tell it to prove it self or to give you a sign cause it can't unless it is powerful and if it is it can hurt you bad. #5. Don't play by yourself. It is true you can be posessed or it can make you do something you will regret. #6. Never leave a Ghost (hangin) on the board it can escape. If you're going to walk away make it say goodbye. #7. Probably the number 1 rule. Quiji Boards lie. Don't get upset over nothing they enjoy seeing you in pain so don't give in. Make them tell the truth. This is how: #8. If a particular Ghost is giving you trouble, get a lighter or a match and hold the light up to the moon. Put your hand on the triangle and tell it to stop lying ,behave, or to say goodbye. Nine times out of ten they will do what you say. They don't like when tou burn the moon.

you know when you bite your lip and then you keep biting it because now it is swollen and sticks out funny and is perfectly positioned for accidental biting incidences?!?!

yeah?.. well it sucks and hurts and makes me really angry because i think about not biting my lip as i am biting my lip.

also i have been sitting at whole foods for like two hours now drinking kombucha and eating rice chips trying to finish my midterm for philosophy which is already late and which i have to finish before i get on a plane tomorrow.

So. i am pretty sure my family is distantly related to ebenezer scrooge.

Every year we wait until the last minute to do christmas-y things, which for a while i thought was just my parents respecting my birthday and waiting until after it to respect Jesus's. However with my mother and i left to our own devices this year i realized christmas might not happen which was close to heartbreaking

my father got home from Italy today and after mine and my mother's failed attempts to get a tree (on dec. 21st, who knew that every tree lot closed down on the 21st exactly?!) christmas looked like it would be happening in a barren living room with no pine smell, no needles and no stockings because who hangs up stockings with no tree?

Anyways..... moral of the story is my parents are like the arch angel gabriel:D

and found the lone tree that exists in all of California on the way home from the airport at a gas station in Vallejo

and it is perfect!
